Who can get a library card?
Anyone aged 6 and up can get a library card. Children under the age of 12 must have a parent with them to start an account and the parent must also have an account (the accounts are linked; parents share responsibility for children's checkouts). Accounts remain linked until children reach the age of 18.

Can I get a Sioux Rapids Memorial Library card even if I don't live in Sioux Rapids?
People who live in cities other than Sioux Rapids or who have a rural address are welcome to get a library card through our open access program. Be aware that patrons from other cities will not have access to our BRIDGES ebook library.
What if I lose my card?
After you have started an account, you don't actually have to bring your card with you. We can easily look you up by name or card number in our system when you are checking out.
Can I renew the books I have out?
If you need a renewal, you can log in to your account through the catalog button on the home screen and renew your books for 2 weeks. You can also call or email us and we are happy to extend the loan period. We don't charge any overdue fines. In the case of lost or stolen items, we require patrons to pay for a book replacement. We will notify you if this is the case, and you will have a period of time to resolve this.
What if somebody else is reading the book I want to read?
If you request a book that is in our collection, and it is checked out, we can reserve it for you. You can also reserve a book by using our library's online card catalog. We will call you when it is returned, and you may come and pick it up. We hold reserves for one week.
What if the library doesn't have the book I want?
You may request a book that our library does not own using the interlibrary loan system; just let a librarian know the title and author. If the book is not available, we will let you know immediately. Most requested books are received within 2 weeks. When the book arrives, a librarian will call or email you to let you know that the book is available for pickup.
